The capacity of a container is its internal volume. Capacity is the ability to hold, receive or absorb, or a measure thereof, similar to the concept of volume.

For e.g. the capacity of a larger carton of fruit juice is 1 litre. The capacity of the petrol tank in some small cars is about 50 litres.
