Question: What is a Critical Path ?

Answer:

A complicated job such as building a house is made up of smaller jobs such as lay the foundations, build the walls, fit the window frames, etc. Some jobs cannot be done until a previous job has been completed, while others might be independent of each other. The jobs can be shown diagrammatically using a network. The best order for doing the jobs can be found by tracing routes on the network. The route from start to finish which takes the longest time is called the critical path.
