Question: What is Dimension ?

Answer:

Dimension of a space is roughly defined as the minimum number of coordinates needed to specify every point within it. A line is one-dimensional, a plane is two-dimensional, and the space we live in is three-dimensional.

A shape drawn in a plane is said to be two-dimensional, but a solid such as a sphere or a pyramid needs a third dimension to exist, so is called three-dimensional.
