Answer:

Perpendicular means at right angles. Two lines are perpendicular when they cut at 90o. A line can be perpendicular to a plane.

For example the edge of a room is perpendicular to the floor.

Also two planes can be perpendicular to each other such as two faces of a shoe box with a common edge.
