Question: What is Power of Number ?

Answer:

When a product is formed by multiplying a number by itself, such as.
7 x 7 = 72       2 x 2 x 2 = 23       5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 = 58

then the power of the number is the number of times it has been used in the product. So in the example given:
7 is said to be raised to the power of 2
2 is said to be raised to the power of 3
5 is said to be raised to the power of 8

When a number x is raised to the power of 2 it is said to be squared, and when it is raised to be squared, and when it is raised to the power of 3 it is said to be cubed. These names comes from the area of a square of side x and the volume of a cube of edge x.
