When a shape is transformed by sliding it to a new position, 
                    without turning, it is said to have been translated. Every 
                    point of the shape will have undergone an identical displacement, 
                    which can be described by a vector.
                  
 In the example shown, the quadrant has been displaced by 
                    (3, 1) so the translation can be described by
(x, y) = (x + 3, y + 1)
